Metatheorizing the Sustainable Economy

Sustainability is a keyword today, but what does this term really mean. This is most unclear – the area is therefore to be considered as an immature, emerging, area within business and administration. If we expand the term to include definitions made within different sciences and cultures, it becomes even more confusing. The problems and opportunities associated to sustainable development are holistic – global -, thus broad, interdisciplinary and intercultural approaches are needed. Many scholars are also drawn to the field and so are the funders.
